Sunday 28th

Not too grim up north?

I travelled to Dunston in Staffordshire for an Esoaring comp

A strong wind increasing with rain on the way was not ideal and I failed to find any decent lift, but the centre of the landing box happened to be near to where I crashed and this was enough to give me first place

There are some more photos at http://www.glos-mfc.co.uk/phil/d13/1.htm

The graph shows what a poor day it was

I over launched in one slot when I encountered strong lift at motor off, but relaunched so it did not matter.

John Richards was the only person to fly out a 10 minute slot

Saturday 20th

A grand day out

This was the MSA open F3J contest held at fish meadow Upton on Severn,  the first Barcs league event I had entered
Excellent weather with a varying amount of lift

Mike Raybone ran the comp with only a minor hitch when one of the bank of computers had to be rebooted

The launch was a little cross wind coming a little from the right which was OK for us as we had the left hand winch position, as we did not need to worry about crossed lines

I made it to the fly off but was out flown by Ian and Bob

Mike has collected the times for the four members that don't usually do the Barcs comps

Following on from the results below I thought you might like to see the  individual flight times.

Phil    9:38 + 99 : 5:19 + 98 : 5:29 + 96 : 9:38 +98 : 9:49 + 98 : 9:46 + 35

Tracy has had some lessons and here she is flying Paul Gurr’s helicopter. Paul talked Tracy into doing some flying on his simulator. She has done so well that Paul has let her fly his own model with a training undercarriage. After a few flying lesson pic shows her flying on her own, well done!
